குருதிக் கொடையாளர் தினம்

உலகக் குருதிக் கொடையாளர் தினம் (உலகக் குருதிக்கொடை தினம் என்று முன்னர் அழைக்கப்பட்டது) ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜூன் 14 ஆம் தேதி கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த நாளில், உலகம் முழுவதும் உள்ள நாடுகள், ஏபிஓ குருதி வகையைக் கண்டுபிடித்த நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற கார்ல் லாண்ட்ஸ்டெய்னருக்கு அஞ்சலி செலுத்தும் வண்ணம் உலகக் குருதிக் கொடையாளர் தினத்தைக் கொண்டாடுகின்றனர். இரத்தக் கொடை பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை அதிகரிக்க இந்நாள் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. இரத்தக் கொடை அளித்துப் பிறர் உயிர்களைக் காப்போருக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தும் முகமாக இவ்வாண்டின் கருத்து வாசகம் “என் உயிரைக் காத்த உங்களுக்கு நன்றி” என அமைகிறது. வழக்கமாக இரத்த தானம் அளிப்பவர்கள் தொடர்ந்து அளிக்க அவர்களை உற்சாகப்படுத்தவும், மேலும் மேலும் ஆரோக்கியமான நபர்கள் மனமுவந்து குருதிக் கொடை அளிக்க ஊக்குவிப்பதும் இதன் முக்கிய குறிக்கோளாகும். “இலவசமாக அளிக்கவும், அடிக்கடி அளிக்கவும். குருதிக் கொடை அவசியமானது” என்பதே இந்நாளின் முழக்கம்.

சேமித்து வைக்கும் குருதியின் உட்கூறுகள் குறைந்த காலமே பாதுகாத்து வைக்கக் கூடியது. இதனால் தொடர்ந்து குருதிக்கொடை அளிப்பதைப் பற்றிய பரந்த பொது விழிப்புணர்வை உருவாக்க உலக சுகாதார நிறுவனம் கருதுகிறது. மட்டுமன்றி தற்போதுள்ள குருதிக் கொடையாளர்களை முறையான கால இடைவெளி விட்டு தொடர்ந்து குருதிக் கொடை அளிக்க ஊக்குவிக்க வலியுறுத்துகிறது. 18-65 வயதுக்குட்பட்ட எவரும் குருதிக்கொடை அளிக்கலாம். இதற்கு சில விதிவிலக்குகளும் உண்டு.

தற்போது நமது நாட்டில் கிடைக்கும் இரத்தத்தின் அளவை விட தேவை அதிகமாக உள்ளது. தேவையான இரத்தத்தை அளிக்க இயலாமல் இரத்த வங்கிகள் தொடர்ந்து சவாலை எதிர்நோக்குகின்றன. மேலும், குருதிக்கொடை பெறும்போது சில பாதுகாப்புப் பிரச்சினைகளிலும் கவனம் செலுத்த வேண்டியுள்ளது. பிரதிபலனை எதிர்பாராமல் தாமே மனமுவந்து குருதிக்கொடை அளிப்போர் தொடர்ந்து தானம் அளிக்கும் போதே போதுமான அளவுக்கு இரத்தம் கிடைக்கும். ஆகவே, பணம் பெறாமல் குருதிக்கொடை அளிப்போரை ஊக்குவிப்பதே முக்கியமான ஓர் உத்தியாகும். தேவையான அளவுக்கு இரத்தத்தைப் பதிலீடு செய்ய நோயாளியே ஒரு குருதிக்கொடையாளரை அழைத்து வர வேண்டும் என்பது பல இரத்த வங்கிகள் கடைபிடிக்கும் கொள்கையாகும். இது பல நோயாளிகளுக்கு சிரமத்தைத் தருகிறது. ஆனால், இரத்த வங்கிகளுக்குப் போதுமான அளவுக்கு இரத்தம் கிடைக்குமானால் இந்தப் பதிலீட்டுக் கொள்கையைப் படிப்படியாகக் கைவிட்டுவிடலாம்.

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year by the people in many countries around the world on 14^th of June. World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year on the day of birthday anniversary of Karl Landsteiner on 14^th of June in 1868. This event celebration was first started in the year 2004 aiming to raise the public awareness about the need for safe blood donation (including its products) voluntarily and unpaid by the healthy person. Blood donors are the key role player at this day as they donate life-saving gifts of blood to the needed person.

It was first initiated and established to be celebrated annually on 14^th of June by “the World Health Organization, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies” in the year 2004. World Blood Donor Day was officially established by the WHO with its 192 Member States in the month of May in 2005 at the 58^th World Health Assembly in order to motivate all the countries worldwide to thank the blood donors for their precious step, promote voluntary, safe and unpaid blood donations to ensure the sufficient blood supplies. World Blood Donor Day celebration brings a precious opportunity to all donors for celebrating it on national and global level as well as to commemorate the birthday anniversary of the Karl Landsteiner (a great scientist who won the Nobel Prize for his great discovery of the ABO blood group system).

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated to fulfill the need of blood transfusion and blood products transfusion to the needed person anywhere in the world. This campaign saves more than millions of lives annually and gives a natural smile on the face of blood receiver. Blood transfusion helps patients suffering from variety of life-threatening health conditions and stimulates them to live longer and quality life. It solves the lots of complex medical and surgical procedures all around the world. This campaign plays a great life-saving role for caring the women during pre and post pregnancy.
